Blood on Snow by Jo Nesbø

Hello again!

I jerked awake at 4 am this morning, heart pounding, I forgot to post Novel Monday! I was so busy working on a new recipe and this giveaway, I completely forgot to finish it.

So, a day late I’m here. Last weeks novel was Blood on Snow: A Novel by Jo Nesbø.

Olav, a successful “fixer” for Oslo’s greatest crime boss, knows his life is going to hell when his new job is to fix his boss’s wife. It should be his easiest job yet, but it might turn out to be his biggest mistake.

Olav, our sympathetic anti-hero, is dyslexic, bad at math, and an overall poor criminal. He’s a bit obsessive, desperate for love, and follows a unique moral code. His narration is at times unreliable, but plows forward at a no-nonsense pace, pulling you toward the end.

As my first crack at Nesbø’s work, I found it well-written and engrossing. It’s short at 207 pages, which I notice is not his norm, but it is well worth the read.

4 out of 5.
